After neglecting my skin for what feels like forever (Thank you stress inducing all encompassing house move) I finally got myself over to Asda and picked up THIS L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Glow Mask. It was on offer for around £6 so not much to lose if I didn’t like it.
I decided on the Glow mask because my skin really does need an extra boost to get it glowing – a glow is unfortunately not something that comes naturally to me. The exfoliating element also really appealed as since ditching my old favourite Aapri Scrub I’ve been on the lookout for another way to exfoliate my face. Two birds one stone.
The L’Oreal Pure Clay Glow Mask claims to illuminate tone by exfoliating the skins surface without drying it out. It has 3 pure clays – Koalin to absorb impurities, Montmorillonite to eliminate imperfections and Ghassoul to clarify complexion. They suggest you use it 2-3 times per week for best results.
The mask comes in a lovely little glass pot, which always feels a bit fancy to me… It contains 10 applications but I imagine it’ll last way longer than that. It has a smooth clay texture with tiny exfoliating beads in it which gently exfoliate your skin as you apply the mask. It smells lovely too, I was half expecting a muddy whiff but it has nothing of the sort.
The mask goes on to your skin really nicely, though the colour does leave you looking like you’ve had a bad chemical peel, much in the style of Samantha from Sex and the City. Once you’ve applied it you leave it on for 5-10 minutes, and then wash it off using warm water and a cloth if you want to. I used a cloth the first few times but quickly realised it was easier to put it on 5 minutes before having a shower, and wash it off once I’m in.
It absolutely did what it said it would, when I use it my skin feels beautifully soft and clean. I’m not so sure it gives me a glow, but that doesn’t put me off this product. I’d highly recommend this mask and I can’t wait to give their other ones a go!
