Sudocrem Care & Protect

Sudocrem Care & Protect

I was very kindly sent a tube of Sudocrem Care & Protect so I thought I’d write a small review on it, as it’s a bit different to the usual ginormous tub of Sudocrem that we all know and love. It couldn’t have come at a better time as Florence is suffering with nappy rash (Thank you teeth), so it’s been getting a good test run!

Sudocrem Care & Protect works in 3 ways.

  1. It forms a protective barrier on your babies skin to seal in moisture and protect from external irritants that can cause nappy rash.
  2. It Conditions skin as it contains Vitamin E and Pro Vitamin B5, which keep the skin healthy.
  3. It guards against infection as it forms a protective layer on your babies delicate skin.

Oh, and as an added bonus, it’s hypoallergenic too!

Care & Protect has a much thinner and silkier texture. It still feels like a thick protective cream when it’s on, but it’s nowhere near as thick as normal Sudocrem. Because of this, it’s far nicer to use as a nappy rash cream as you can spread it on to your babies skin easily. Florence is a wriggler* so speed is key when changing her. Sudocrem care and protect is really easy to smear on before she runs away.

You only have to use a small amount, a little goes a really long way. It is colourless when applied which means you don’t end up with smears of white cream covering both you and your baby after a particularly energetic nappy change. It washes off hands really easily and has a very mild scent compared to other nappy creams.

I noticed a difference after a day of using Sudocrem Care & Protect on Florence’s teething nappy rash. It really calmed it down after the first nappy change, and by the next day it was as good as gone. I’d highly recommend it. I imagine it would be perfect for newborn babies too, as it’s soft and gentle and the protective barrier is really great for keeping anything unpleasant away from their skin.
