I’ve found a few different things this month that I absolutely love so I thought I’d share them with you here. All thoughts are my own, I’ve bought all these products and I am in no way being sponsored or promoting any brands through this post.
Aldi No1 Lime, Basil & Mandarin Candle. £3.99.
I was given the Jo Malone Lime, Basil and Mandarin handwash and lotion set as a gift a couple of years back and I completely fell in love with the scent. I didn’t fall in love with the price tag though, so when I saw this candle in Aldi I had to have it. I actually sent the Husband on a search mission to find it because my local Aldi had run out of stock. I already have one spare I will absolutely be buying it again.
It smells AMAZING. The scent is strong but not overpowering and it burns slowly so you get a lot of life out of your candle. It looks good too, so it ticks all the boxes for me.
No7 Lash Impact Waterproof Mascara. £13.50
My mum gave me this. I think she maybe got it free as part of an in store promotion. Anyway, I was given it and I love it. It is quite a light mascara so you can build up the layers for a dramatic look, or use one or two layers for a more natural effect. It’s impressively waterproof. It doesn’t budge for the whole day which is fantastic as I often seem to end up with panda eyes by 6pm. Despite this, I’ve never bought waterproof mascara because I always think it’ll be a nightmare to get off. But this one isn’t, and that’s thanks to my next favourite…
Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Cleansing Water. £4.99
I’ve reviewed this already here. To summarise, I love this product so very much. It’s a fantastic make up remover and it leaves my skin feeling clean and soft. Big thumbs up for Garnier from me! Link to it here.
Oil of Olay Beauty Fluid Moisturiser. £4.39
Continuing the make up/skin care theme, I’ve recently got back in to using this. It was my go to moisturiser for all of my teenage years, and then for reasons that I can’t really remember now, I began trying different creams and potions. I’ve noticed my skin getting a bit more oily lately, and a bit more sensitive, so I’ve gone back to basics and I love it just as much now as I used to. It’s a light, non greasy formula. It has a lovely smell, it’s not too thick and it leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth. I’ll be sticking with this moisturiser for the foreseeable future I think. You can buy it here.
Toni & Guy Damage Repair Hair Mask. £7.19.
I bought this in Superdrug a few weeks back. My hair was feeling really dry so I figured I’d slap a hair mask on it and hope for the best. I’m glad I chose this one! You put it on the lengths of your hair, leave it for a few minutes and then rinse out. Perfect for using in the shower, which is great for me as I really don’t have the time to be sitting around with stuff in my hair for hours. As soon as I began rinsing it out my hair it felt so much smoother, and my natural curls have been a lot more defined since I started using this mask. I’ve been using it every third wash and my hair is feeling so much better for it! Check it out here.
Primark Dress. £10.00
I dress (far too) casually most of the time so this isn’t my usual style, but this dress kept catching my eye in Primark and I’ve fallen in love with it! It’s cheap at only £10, but it certainly doesn’t feel cheap. The fabric isn’t see through or thin in any way. The details like the buttons and the waist tie are well made and it’s cut really nicely. I’m 5 foot 6 and it’s around knee length on me. Also, I think the colour is beautiful! I’ve had so many compliments on this dress and I think it’ll look lovely in the autumn with black tights and ankle boots.
Motorola Video Monitor.
Florence was using an Angelcare Movement and Sound monitor but the wriggler kept escaping off the sensor pad, and after a few too many panicked runs to her cot in the middle of the night I decided to give it up and use a video monitor instead. I find this one really good. The camera is small, the screen on the parent unit is a good size and the picture is really clear. I love that I can see what Florence is doing. She doesn’t make much fuss when she wakes up so it’s so handy to be able to see if she’s ready to get up or if she’s just having a shuffle about in her sleep. I don’t think this exact one is sold any more, but Motorola do a very similar version here.
So that’s my list of August Favourites. Do you use any of these products? What do you think of them?
